sxc.hu: ppreacher It would be pretty hard to deny the massive increase in our portions over the past few decades. It seems everything from muffins to coffee have grown considerably. stareyedpanda added an entry about lose weight : I read some where that you cant out train a bad diet..Thats where I went wrong..I thought if i did a half marathon i could eat whatever I want but I cant. here some other info I found.. overeating and start losing weight… Tip 1 – Stop focusing so much on what you eat or how much you overeat, rather focus on why you eat. Do you eat because you’re hungry? Really hungry? Pause before answering this question. Really think about it. Do you ever find yourself eating due to stress? Do you ever dig into that tub of ice-cream because you’re depressed? Do you ever reach out for those chips to escape reality in front of your tv set?

Clementine Cakes - Feast Your Eyes

Filed under: Feast Your Eyes , Features Photo: adashofsass, Flickr Clementines -- small, veritably sweet, and usually seedless -- it's no wonder they are the darling of the citrus family. After "boiling the heck out of" a batch of the tiniest mandarin oranges, blogger A Dash of Sass purées the fruit and mixes in ground almonds, eggs, almond meal, agave nectar, baking powder and vanilla extract. Once the flourless, butterless cake batter is baked off, the resulting mini cakes take a dunk in a silky dark chocolate glaze. Given the dainty size of these baby cakes, they are positively charming with a spot of afternoon tea or for a resolution-friendly winter dessert. The hardest part? Refraining from humming "Oh My Darling, Clementine" while eating. Become a member of the Slashfood Flickr pool to get a shot of having your photos featured in Feast Your Eyes.

The Humane Society Super-Sizes Their Investments

Filed under: Fast Food , Food News , Food Politics Charlie Neibergall, AP. by Nicki Gostin The Humane Society , which has business departments devoted to combating puppy mills, stopping animal testing in laboratories and putting an end to animal cruelty, to name just a few, has recently bought stock in two fast-food chains: Jack in the Box and Steak 'n Shake restaurants. Um, what? Before the righteous indignation kicks in, there's actually very clever reasoning behind the seemingly bizarre sale. The plan intends to influence both chains to change how they do business. The Humane Society wants both companies to stop buying eggs from hens confined to cages and pork from hog farmers who breed pigs in crates. HSUS Corporate Outreach Director Matthew Prescott told Slashfood, "Americans don't support cramming farm animals into tiny cage and crates. It's cruel, illegal in multiple states, and many of Steak 'n Shake's and Jack in the Box's competitors are moving away from this type of abuse."
