Malificent added an entry about lose weight : Not really doing any exercise, as don’t have a real daily routine at the moment to schedule it into, but trying to eat less (even though can’t seem to keep a food diary properly either at the moment – argh!) and something must be working because I’m 121 lbs :) Still got a couple more pounds to go before reach pre-christmas weight (118), but I hope just eating lean protein and small portions of carbs and vegetables/fruit will see to that within a couple of weeks.

Nutella Sfogliatella - Feast Your Eyes

Filed under: Feast Your Eyes , Features Photo: Guillermo Esteves, Flickr These flaky, ridged Neapolitan pastries may be laborious to pronounce but not to eat. Traditional sfogliatelle are clam-shaped pastries and delectable served as dessert, with caffè or as breakfast. A popular variation of the multi-layered pastry is often referred to as another shellfish, the "lobster tail," because the elongated, layered pastry resembles the shape of the ruby red crustacean's tail. With a drizzle of Nutella and a dusting of powdered sugar, this cinnamon-, ricotta- and semolina-filled pastry is a welcome addition to our morning bread basket Become a member of the Slashfood Flickr pool to get a shot of having your photos featured in Feast Your Eyes.

Filed under: Science , Farming , Business Photo: cbcastro, flickr Jasmine rice is soft, fragrant and - much to the consternation of U.S. rice growers - impossible to grow in the nation's rice-producing regions. "Maybe you could grow it in South Florida or South Texas," theorizes Steve Linscombe, senior rice breeder and director of Louisiana State University's rice research station . "But even if you could, the yield potential is very low." Linscombe's spent the better part of two decades developing a homegrown alternative to the phenomenally popular Thai strain of jasmine rice. After a successful test run in 2009, farmers are planning to plant thousands of acres of Jazzman rice this season. Continue reading Rice Breeders Jazz Up Market With New Strain

pikilo1029 added an entry about lose weight : So the diet and exercise is going really well and im even starting to notice a little bit of a difference already…although i have a LONG LONG way to go. But it sucks because i have got the horrid january cold oing around, nothing major just a funny temperature and cough/runny nose…gross to the extreme. That’s an exaggeration actually…it is probably merely gross. Anyway, it just makes me want to lie in bed all day and sleep …not really part of my exercise plan…and the less you do the more you want to eat just because you are bored etc…it is a nasty cycle…
