Children Should Rely On Safety Equipment To Prevent School Sports Injuries

Many children return to school sports, such as soccer, football, cross-country and volleyball in late-July or early-August. Jon Divine, M.D., director of Sports Medicine at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center, says it's most important for children to be in shape even before showing up for the first day of practice or tryouts to reduce the risk of injury. Acclimating to hot weather workouts ten days to two weeks before official practice begins can prevent heat injuries.

lostdusk added an entry about lose weight : Had a piece of battenburg at lunch, but it was yummy and only 150 cals (and besides, 1 bit of cake won’t make me gain weight!), so my lunch still came to around 300 cals. I know that seems low for lunch, but about half an hour before that I ate some fruit and veg and a glass of milk (200 cals). Only trouble is it had 22grams of sugar! Blimey, I was gonna have an apple tonight for afters, but apples have a lot of sugar in…i’ll find some other lower sugar fruit to have instead.

juicebox88 added an entry about lose weight : Kay yeterday was pretty good, and today I’ve burned 400 calories so far. PLanning on burning 400 more, and we’re also going to the fair, so I’ll get in some serious walking (not to mention temptation). Though I can’t say I find deep fried twinkie particularily tempting X We’re going to Virginia Beach for four days on Sunday, so as long as I eat well there, I’ll lose weight from doing so much walking. There’s also a gym, a pool, beach, so I have no excuse! Wish me luck, food’s definately going to be my enemy on this trip.

~*~ lori ~*~ added an entry about lose weight : So I went vegetarian for many many reasons but I was happy to find in the frozen foods section of the grocery that they had veggie chicken patties until I read the sodium content! It has 590mgs of sodium in a little patty the size of my palm, and trust me my palm is SMALL ! My boyfriend said that they have MORE sodium than what’s in a bigmac from McDonald’s, which I plan on investigating today. I am so bummed! I would be eating healthier if I actually read these important things.
