Weak moment!!!

Heather added an entry about lose weight : I came home from class and my parents had ordered Chinese for dinner. Eek Cream cheese won tons are my favorite. So I am going to eat them and just be really good tomorrow. I know they are not healthy but I have a migraine and I just sat through a 3 hr class about the Holocaust. Oh my that brings my total up today to 1,929 calories. Eek!

Aerie added an entry about lose weight : I’m not overweight. Or I hope not anyway..haha. None the less I want to pursue a healthier life style. I want to run farther, feel sexier, and live happier. I want to make my own meals from scratch and appreciate it instead of consuming packaged products. I wish this easier done than said.

Frugal Friday: Don't Throw That Rice Away!

The Magee family does do the Chinese take-out thing from time to time and we always end up with a couple of small cartons of leftover rice. I usually ask for a carton each of white and brown rice since part of the clan refuses to go brown (I figure this is okay since they eat whole grain in every other situation). So guess which carton is sitting in the refrigerator almost completely full? The brown rice carton of course! Chocolunatic added an entry about lose weight : Thanks God, the partying is over and lucky me I gained nothing….WoooHooo…. I still can’t believe that. I have been eating soooo much in the past three days and I cut down on exercise and I still have not gained weight!!! That only means one thing, that the weight I have lost so far is really permanently lost (I hope so!!) Though still 4 days behind schedule, I might be able to catch up later on :) For now I should just stay on top of things and undo some of the damage (that is getting back to exercise and healthy food) to catch up with my schedule.

In Rare Disorder, Low Levels Of Brain Chemical May Lead To Obesity

A brain chemical that plays a role in long term memory also appears to be involved in regulating how much people eat and their likelihood of becoming obese, according to a National Institutes of Health study of a rare genetic condition. Brain derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) is, as its name implies, produced in the brain. Studies of laboratory animals have suggested it also helps control appetite and weight.

Fat Tissue And Obsesity

A Temple University study finds fat in obese patients is "sick" when compared to fat in lean patients. When our bodies don't work properly, we say we're sick. A study published in the September issue of Diabetes finds that the same could be said for fat tissue found in obese patients. The cells in their fat tissue aren't working properly and as a result, are sicker than cells found in lean patients' fat tissue. Lead author Guenther Boden, M.D.

High impact activities such as jumping and skipping that can easily be incorporated into warm-ups before sports and physical education classes, have been shown to benefit bone health in adolescents. The 10 minute school-based intervention, provided twice a week for about eight months, significantly improved bone and muscle strength in healthy teenagers compared to regular warm-ups.

stayfreshiceland added an entry about lose weight : alright so im trying to tour as an artist. i havent really been active in the past couple years. there was a time i weighed 165 now 220. im gonna try and lose about sixty pounds. its probably not gonna be very easy. but i kinda feel like i needa be in decent shape if im gonna tour. now im not trying to lose the weight to look good or anything like that. its just the body that ive got is not the one that ive had and its just not the one im used to. so im gonna give this a try. probably gonna have to try and eat better. and then probably take up some kindof a sport. im gonna moving to a larger city with a sort of bike centric culture. it should be easy to find people to bike with. skateboardings always been kindof a bit interesting to me. i could pick up a board and practice that. i used to take swimming lessons when i was younger. alot of the world is under water it might be decent to learn how to scuba. im a fan of having a body thats built for a purpose. i dont really like the whole gym thing. i’d want all my muscles to’ve been built by lifting real things. you know, moving furniture around the place. things that’re necessary. there’s always something that needs doing. id rather help somebody out or do something that was useful than just lift weights. so thats the idea anyway. i think it should be pretty easy with the way the cities laid out.

Heather added an entry about lose weight : In an effort to increase my exercise I walked up the stairs today. Now I normally walk up the 2 flights of stairs to my class on the 3rd floor so its not like I don’t normally do this. But today I took the stairs all the way to my class on the 6th floor. I was so out of breath when I go to the top. But I like the way walking up the stairs makes my legs feel. I am going to try to do it everyday that I have my math class.

lostdusk added an entry about lose weight : My tae bo DVD came today. i did the instructional workout, the basic workout and the 8 minute workout. It felt good, now i wonder how many calories it burns… Regardless, even if it makes me loss 0 lbs, I am very sure I will have a much more toned and generally slimmer body from doing it. I’ve decided I’ll do the 8 minute workout most mornings before breakfast, then on my workout days where I don’t swim, do 2 30 minute workouts.

dainty_lil_daisy added an entry about lose weight : i read an article today that said to know how many calories you need to maintain your weight: just take your weight and multiply it by 10, then add your weight to that number. 118×10= 1180+118= 1298..so 1300 calories a day basically if i don’t exercise to maintain this weight… less than i thought!! lol but i’m glad i know now cuz i was just generalizing and thinking 1500….but it makes sense that it would vary for different body weights.

I really want people to see a dramatic difference in not only my looks but my personality. So i have been a good girl. ;] i have been sticking to my diet and working out like a bloody maniac. I have been eating egg white omelets,lean turkey burgers and special k cerial… YUMM . I haven’t been on the scales but i am planning to tomorrow morning. Maybe i have lost acouple pounds. Today i did some yoga.. it really helps me. I haven’t been able to bend like that in ages _

xxwednesdayxxx added an entry about lose weight : I am straying! ugh… its freaking me out. I have weighed 186, then 187 the past two days. :( I am going up! And its making me nervous. Today I ate B-Nutrigrain bar (140) L-1/2 sub (250) 3 large cokes (terrible habit, 450) Dinner goal: ONE slice of pizza. Oh god I hope I can do it. I usually eat 3. And no soda. I really need to exercise. Tomorrow I will eat the other half of a sub for lunch, and something light for breakfast and dinner. I’ve had 840 calories today already. If I eat that slice of pizza it will be 1123. I feel like crying xx wednesday

lostdusk added an entry about lose weight : I also forgot to mention how energised I feel tonight! usually my legs always ach. Perhaps ach is the wrong word…but they feel weak. Which I always found odd because I eat plenty (about 1750 on average), and I exercise often. But, I’ve been thinking, and I think that too many of us often forget how far we have already come. I do it too. like, although I have lost about 30 lbs, sometimes I feel like I am doing so badly at this. but I think back to how I used to look, and I know it’s all in my head. Yes, I still have about 6-10 lbs more to lose, and I need to tone up, but in the grand scale of things I have done so well, I just need to realise it more rather than critisising myself!
