Olympic Medical Research Using GE Healthcare Technology Finds Enlarged Hearts Can Be Good Hearts

GE Healthcare along with Olympic medical leaders announced at the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games, initial findings that recognize risks for sudden cardiac death and musculoskeletal injuries before they happen. The findings come from two Olympic athlete research studies conducted since the Torino 2006 Olympic Winter Games aimed at demonstrating that health monitoring and early intervention may lead to injury prevention and enhanced health.

Mike added an entry about lose weight : 160! I probably won’t make my original goal of 155 in the next 2 days, but 160 is a good milestone for me so I’m happy. I’ve just about dropped a notch in my belt too! From here ill start pushing for 155. Problem is, I’m going on a 7 day cruise later this week and it will be tough to maintain 160. Wish me luck.

I need to replace the broken scale at home. I need to stop being so damn greedy and eat only when hungry. I need to lower my carb intake and say no to fried foods. I need to replace boredom eating with a hobby or an activity I enjoy. I need to drink water at work instead of diet soda. I need to walk to work when possible. I need to take an appetite suppressant, if necessary. I need to go to the gym religiously, as I was earlier this year. I need to reach my goal weight and maintain it within a 3 pound range. I need to focus!

Josh Dhaliwal added an entry about lose weight : My first true 10K workout at the gym today. 1. 3000m on cross-country cross trainer (20 mins – 300 cals) 2. 5000m on treadmill (35 mins – 400 cals) 3. 2000m on rowing machine (9 mins – 200 cals) I guestimate that to be about 900 calories burnt. Yippee! Now home for homemade veggie lasagne!

Well, she goes to slimming world, but she’s at her target so doesn’t have to pay, but after a week of eating what i eat she lost 4.5 lbs in her last weigh in there and had to pay. Made me laugh anyway – if only my eating made me lose 4.5 lbs in a week.

Fake Lent...

xBadaBingx added an entry about Lose Weight : The gym trips have never been a problem for me… just my eating habits. I have this problem where I like food. Even the healthy stuff I will eat more than nessesary. As a result I have decided to do a “fake lent” hence giving up a few things for the next 2 months. I will wean myself off them (and get rid of the food out of my cabinets for the next week, and then on Sept. 1st go cold turkey 1) Alcohol – I will only drink minimal amounts of white wine (I will give it up entirely after my birthday in mid-Sept) 2) 1000 Island Dressing – The death to all my salads… curses to the man that invented it! 3) Bread – I will still eat whole wheat pasta and brown rice, just no bread 4) Desert – the candy jar at work has a magnetic pull on me that I must resist.

Steff69 added an entry about lose weight : The last few days I’ve been unbelivably tired for no good reason. I’m not over worked, I’m always sleeping. Like last night I slept for 12 hours, I normally cant sleep more than 9, and I got up and had dinner and sat down in front of the tv, and fell asleep again. Woke up 1 hour later, went for a walk, came home and sat down and I was exhausted, as if I just down a huge workout or something. I have no idea whats up with me, I’m on some energy boost stuff now so I hope that helps. But my point is that I’ve been eating loads trying to give myself energy and its really showing around my tummy. I feel depressed :(
