Testing men for elevated levels of prostate-specific antigen (PSA) in the blood -- the gold standard screening test for prostate cancer -- may be biased against obese men, whose PSA levels tend to be deceptively low. And this bias may be creating more aggressive cancers in this population by delaying diagnosis, according to a new study led by investigators in the Duke Prostate Center and the Durham Veterans Affairs (VA) Medical Center.
lostdusk added an entry about lose weight : I was going to weigh myself tomorrow morning. however, I don’t want the scale to determine how I feel when I’m staying at my grandparents house, so I won’t. The next monday I won’t either, because I know I may have gained / not lost because of staying at my grandparents. So I figured, I’d wait untill the end of the summer holidays. So I only have 3 weeks to wait. Hopefully I’ll weigh in about 3 pounds lighter.
~*~ lori ~*~ added an entry about lose weight : I might not be losing any weight, though I am not gaining any either, but I am noticing a difference in my clothes and that ROCKS !!! I wore jeans last night to this party and they FIT ! Granted, they didn’t fit the way I want them to ultimatley fit, but they fit none the less! So that means that this weight lose lifestyle change (I REFUSE to call it a diet) is working. I am finally seeing some results and I don’t feel like I’m cheating myself out of anything. I mean, yes I would love to eat a pint of Ben & Jerry’s but do I need to, nope.
These 10 American top Olympic athletes just might inspire you to take up new sports, master your favorite ones and raise your fitness to an all-time high.
utopya added an entry about lose weight : I lost weight after all during my vacation – my period came and immediately I went from 89 to 87 :) And, since my last entry the weight watchers method is going wonderfully for me. I can’t believe how easy it is! Two months, then I should be on my old weight, woohoo! :)
hash420623 added an entry about Lose weight : I have decided to stop beating around the bush and tackle the matter directly for a change. I am gonna lose weight. So I am gonna need an action plan. I already know all the basic stuff. Cut down on sweets, oily food and rice. Excercise more and blah blah blah.
Milliseconds can mean the difference between triumph and defeat in the world of Olympic sports, leading more trainers and athletes to look toward technology as a tool to get an edge on the competition. A fluids mechanics professor at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, N.Y., is using experimental flow measurement techniques to help American swimmers sharpen their strokes, shave seconds from their lap times, and race toward a gold medal in Beijing this summer.
matthew103 added an entry about lose weight : I ran this morning for about a mile. I get pretty winded towards the end. I’m hoping to build up some endurance so that I can run without too much pain.
Amanda added an entry about lose weight : I have lost a pant size I am a size 6 Yea! sounds like nothing to most but I am 4’11 and for my height I feel like I am overweight. I weight 130. I don’t want to be short and stubby. I want to at least be back to a size 2. I was at a size zero for a long time but I think that is way unhealthy. a healthy size for my height would be a size 2 or 4. Thanks Amanda
As the Summer Olympics in Beijing kicks off this week, the event is giving scientists a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to observe how the atmosphere responds when a heavily populated region substantially curbs everyday industrial emissions. The National Science Foundation (NSF)-funded "Cheju ABC Plume-Monsoon Experiment" (CAPMEX) will include a series of flights by specially equipped unmanned aircraft known as autonomous unmanned aerial vehicles (AUAVs).
Michaela added an entry about lose weight : I’ve had this on my list since I first got this account… yet I’ve really done nothing to contribute to accomplishing it. I don’t even have a goal weight or size I want to reach. I just want to be healthier. I wouldn’t mind weighing 120 pounds again, but I’d have to lose over 20 pounds to do that. The worst part is that I now live in an apartment community where I can use a gym for free. I live in an area where I can take long walks safely. I’ve only used the gym twice the whole time I’ve been here. Need to get on that.

Chocolunatic added an entry about lose weight : For Day one I would say “Not bad”...even though I screwed up in dinner and gave in for temptation. But, overall I am glad I am at least aware and feeling guilty about it now.
