Researcher Reports On Noninvasive Device For GERD, Obesity

A new, noninvasive gastroplasty device to treat two separate disorders gastroesophageal-reflux disease (GERD) and morbid obesity was reported by its inventor, Charles J. Filipi, M.D., professor of surgery at Creighton University School of Medicine.Filipi spoke about the device, which could be available for human trials later this year, on Monday, May 19, at the 49th annual Digestive Disease Week in San Diego, Calif.

Taste Test Tuesday: PopChips Barbecue Potato Chips

Sometimes you just want a handful of potato chips, am I wrong? Listen, I'm not a big "chip" person. I have no problems passing up chips at parties or at delis. But every now and then you just want a handful of chips. Maybe it's a flashback from my youth or something. Anyway, I NEVER buy the regular fat chips (they are just too greasy to me); so I'm always looking for a lighter chip that satisfies the chip craving (whenever it strikes). There's a new chip in town. Back... AGAIN

I don’t get it.. i had been doing terrible during exams, eating out every day for EVERY meal.. awful.. I finally got myself under control started eating in for every meal and started walking and exercising again, and I”M STILL GAINING . until today.. yesterday i weighed 138.4.. so today i dropped a little.. but it’s OH SO FRUSTRATING .. it’s like everything caught up with me.. and now I’m fighting it all off.. I NEVER EVER WANT TO GO BACK TO BEING 172 LBS .!! That was the most painful time of my life! BUT WHAT IN THE HECK IS GOING ON ! I’m exercising for about an hour every day! Eating low fat foods and cooking at home for all my meals! AHH !

24 pounds before...

I want to lose 24 lbs first… I wasn’t doing great… I took a whole week off when I went to Florida, but I’m back to exercising now. Yesterday we went through all of my clothes and threw away all of my 3XL t-shirts! I am officially a 2X for the first time in a few years!

close_behind added an entry about lose weight : it’s so hard when you want to lose weight but sometimes you have obstacles in the way. but mostly they’re just excuses. i have been sick but now i would really like to start back up again. i might actually go tonight and that would be good. i should try and go for an hour and a half at least. i used to go to the gym 4 days a week for about 2 hours. i want to be back to doing that again. i want to feel good about myself. not feeling good about myself= feeling depressed= not going to the gym= not good. i don’t want that. i want my swimmers body again. i miss that. so i’ll try everything i can to get there.
