Childhood Obesity 'levelling Off' In France

France may be the first country in the EU to see signs of a levelling off in the national prevalence of childhood obesity, according to the results of two new surveys.Although the studies show the prevalence of overweight was holding steady, the problem remained worse among the poorest children, where researchers found obesity rates were up to three times higher comparing the lowest socioeconomic group to the highest.

beepbeeplove added an entry about lose weight : hiiii everyone :) last week i just had a break from everything.. i got obsessed with food and exercise again and i was just sick of it. so yup :) i just ate like a normal person and didnt count calories and all that. and haha! i lost weight i think :) but im not sure because the scales are dodgy. i think theyre around 3kg too high and if thats true then im 54.5, but thats probably too good to be true. ive been eating three normal meals a day and snacking if ive been hungry. i was at my dads this weekend and there isnt any healthy food there, but normal people are unhealthy too sometimes so im not stressing. but yes :) this week im going to try and avoid snacks unless im really hungry, and ill have a smaller breakfast and exercise every other day. i think thats normal. i just hope i can get back to eating to live and not obsessing over everything, im so tired of thinking about it all the time.. good luck everyone :)

People who are obese and lead unhealthy lifestyles are more likely to suffer from a larger number of urinary problems, according to a population-based study of more than 5,000 men and women published in the May issue of the UK-based urology journal BJU International. Researchers hope the results will help clinicians to understand why problems occur and how they can be managed more effectively.

dec80 added an entry about Lose Weight : I know i’ll get there eventually its just fiding the motivation to stick with it. After eating healthy for the past 2 weeks ive seen no real change. This is depressing… which in turn makes me turn to that chocalate bar that has been winking at me for the past 20 minutes and i’m back to square one. Wish the weight would creep off as quick as it creeped on!

charlotte1984 added an entry about lose weight : Y’day was pretty bad – spent it with a girlfriend from uni who I hardly ever see! Ate lunch at a noodle bar – I did have noodle soup rather than fried noodles – but still not great! Then had dinner at an italian – I had tomato topped bruscetta to start and then pasta with a tomato (not cream!) based sauce. Oh and I didn’t have Parmesan on top! So it could have been worse, and I didn’t snack all day.

Another Half Pound Gone!

I’m not sure my scale is even this accurate, but seeing the little numbers go down always gives me that warm, fuzzy feeling. I’ve discovered Quaker Oats weight loss oatmeal and have been having that for breakfast with a little dried fruit mixed in. It’s very tasty and filling so I suspect it will become a staple. That or all the time spent with the horses is making me start to eat like one. Please stop me if I start eating grass.

lostdusk added an entry about lose weight : Ive got swimming today. Which is good. I always have that groggy feeling on a sunday, I have no idea why. I guess because I know Monday is always there to ruin my weekend :) Anyway, calorie wise, I’m on track today, I had a smaller lunch to allow for some (healthy) snacking before I go swimming. I might have a banana before I go swimming, apparently they give you a quick energy boost.

satisfy.my.soul added an entry about lose weight : wow i broke through the 120’s barrier. this morning i was 119.5 after being out of town for 2 weeks and not weighing myself. i also didn’t drink nearly enough water so to have still lost weight is great and i ate out everyday. now that i am home i will start drinking heaps of water again. i have to say, i think i lost because i was soo busy while i was there and didn’t obsess over meals, just ate as i liked and chose healthy foods (kinda…haha, i did have some spinach cheese-filled tortellini with a cream sauce while i was there, cuban food, mexican, and chicken pesto paninis).
