I’m now a very big girl and for a few years have played the game of losing weight without really putting any effort or commitment in. O I could blame my childhood or use my eating disorder as a reason for not really doing it but the truth is there hasn’t really been a good enough reason to incentivise me to lose weight in the short term.

I am now 209:) I quit heavy eating at night, I can no longer drink and eat mostly cereal now and save my big meal at dinner but I still struggle. There also was a time I tipped the scales at 238. taking care of yourself WORKS . you don’t have to kill yourself. you have to put on your cals in the morning, follow the four food groups and excersis as best you can. No trends, no feminist ego, no excuses. Of course it’s tough and nothing wrong with an occasional slip but you just get back at it. losing weight is NOT a competition or some defense shield. it’s your HEALTH and you can’t screw with it.

xoduckyox added an entry about lose weight : I’ve been thinking about it, my appetite loss started about the time my husband left for his little trip (not so much a trip as his job). It may be related. Maybe that is what’s causing my appetite loss, maybe the awful way I’ve been missing him (understandable I am stuck in a new place without my only true friend and family I have here) maybe my miserable-ness is what is effecting me this way. I got a lot of exercise today at work. I may have gone a bit far though, I’m not supposed to be lifting things and when I did…o geez I got terribly lightheaded and felt awful. That was certainly a sign that my body is not healed even if I feel fine normally. I’ll have to take it easy on my body, I need to stop forgetting what it’s gone through.

Endocrine Society Releases Clinical Practice Guideline On Pediatric Obesity

The Endocrine Society has released a new clinical practice guideline for the prevention and treatment of pediatric obesity. A rapid release version of the guideline has been published on line and will appear in the December issue of the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism (JCEM). The prevalence of obesity in 6- to 11-year-old children increased almost four-fold between 1970 and 2000.

It was all going so well!

Malificent added an entry about lose weight : I had stuck to my plan 100% for this whole week until last night, where at the last minute a friend convinced me to go to a party, which wasn’t the problem because I managed to eat and drink nothing there, but when I got home after midnight I (of course!) headed straight to the kitchen and ate two massive bowls of cereal followed by a giant hot chocolate with milk. And then I did no exercise (I’d planned to do it in the evening, but then let myself get persuaded to go to the party). So. Now my week is ruined! RUINED ! I think I can reverse the damage if I exercise 1000 calories off today and eat only 800. Which is ridiculous. But this is what you get if you have NO will power!

rosyb87 added an entry about lose weight : the hardest thing about doing this is going to parties and being surrounded by delicious food. this happened to me again last night and i got home and felt so guilty…i practically devoured a whole bowl of chocolate coated nuts…not good! so, once again, i’m making some sort of pack to stick to a diet. no snacking. no sugary treats. here’s what i had today- hopefully i’ll eat less tomorrow breakfast- porridge with sultanas, apple, honey and cinnamon snack- apple and large handful of nuts and fruit lunch-carrot salad with seeds cracker with vegemite dinner-small bowl of pasta with pesto and some bolognaise on the side 4 cups of green tea and a bit of water. anyone have any survival tips on how not to pig out at a party when food is the main attraction?

Nothing can ruin your look like fat. It is awful. I am not disciplined and I eat whatever I want and whenever I want. Like I can not think. Like I am not human being. I would like to be able to dress better and to feel better, to be prettier to my husband. It is not too hard but I am too lazy and I am not active as much as I should be. I should do something about it because I want to feel nice all the time and I don’t want let my life pass just like that.

lostdusk added an entry about lose weight : Today we went to Mcdonalds. I got what I usually get, which is a chicken deli and an ice cream cone. The deli is actually quite healthy, wheat submaine bread, chicken breast, and salad and light mayo, something like I’d make at home. The ice cream cone…well, it was yummy! I also sneacked in a couple of sports biscuits and a couple of mini eggs this evening, no worries though. tomorrow I intend on being really good though. The only Junk I’ll allow myself is a lebkuchen biscuit tomorrow, those things are amazing! They only come out at xmas, and lidle being like most shops, is already stocking xmas stuff and my mum really wanted them, so she bought them.

Niel added an entry about lose weight : Unfortunately I don’t have good news to report now. I’ve been picking up weight over the last few weeks. No surprises why: I’ve been eating too much, and lost some gym time. From a psychological perspective, I think what’s happened is that circumstances in my life has arisen that forces me into an old pattern, and because I have not yet learned new behaviour, my eating has reverted to an older style too. I believe that as I change again, my eathing habits will become what I want them to be.
