Center Offers Insight, Specialized Eye Exams For Athletes

The standard eye chart only covers letters and numbers, but athletes need above average vision to track balls hurtling toward them at alarming speeds. To test those special skills, a University of Houston optometrist has founded the Sports Vision Performance Center, a facility where athletes perform while a strobe light is flashing, play tag with a board of lights and engage in other activities designed to improve their visual abilities.

But, the other day I went out an bought an exercise mat and some handweights and I’ve been exercising every morning when I get up and every night before I go to bed. General stretchs etc and some sit ups. Every muscles hurts but I know that’s only a good thing, sign that I’m actually working out!

Taste Test Tuesday: Amy's All American Veggie Burger

I often experiment when making my lunch during the workweek. I work at home while my girls are at school, so this is one way that I try new foods and recipes and no one potentially suffers (when it doesn't turn out) but me. Well, today I pan-fried an Amy's All American Veggie Burger with a little olive oil cooking spray. While I was browning the burger, I was toasting a whole-wheat roll in the toaster oven. Once the toasted bun came out, I spread some sun dried tomato bruschetta (in a jar) I had in the refrigerator.

Bloated!!!!

Piperlite added an entry about lose weight : I don’t know what happened everything was going great, then in the course of what night i’ve been bloated and up some pounds. It is a big dissapointment. I did fine all through the weekend which is usually my hardest time, only to see the declining numbers rise.

lostdusk added an entry about lose weight : Didn’t exercise properly today. Not sure why..I did try, but I think my legs ached. I regret it either way. Tomorrow I have Judo, and I might either go on a bike ride or a walk after. Searching the web for motivational ideas, i found some pretty good ones through google. Bad thing is they come from a pro-ana site. The tips I took from it aren’t exactly pro-ana ones, but they sound good for not eating bad food or for getting your ass up and moving.

In so much pain!

charlotte1984 added an entry about lose weight : My shoulders/arms/back are killing from the class I did y’day so had to ditch my full on work out plans today for a swim instead! Had quite a good day I think – fruit, cereal & skim milk, bulgar wheat salad again and veggie soup with rye bread. And oat crackers & fruit for snacks. Feeling really run down and tired today though, need to eat food tomor that will give me more energy or I will fall asleep at work (or cave in and eat chocolate!)
