According to this Atlanta Journal-Constitution piece , the Atlanta woman discovered the chain best known for its fluffy waffles and late hours a decade ago after a session with her running group. WaHo, as it is known to devotees, discovered Barron's fandom and declared her their spokeswoman. She touts the tastiness and energy boost of her thrice-weekly fix of grilled chicken, hash browns and scrambled eggs.

Start, a lifestyle-changing fitness program at the UPMC Center for Sports Medicine, currently is enrolling adults over age 40 for its summer session. Beginning July 18, sports medicine professionals will guide participants through fitness and education sessions twice weekly for three months, preparing them to run or walk the 5K portion of the Richard S. Caliguiri City of Pittsburgh Great Race on Sept. 27.

Adult obesity rates increased in 23 states and did not decrease in a single state in the past year, according to F as in Fat: How Obesity Policies Are Failing in America 2009, a report released today by the Trust for America's Health (TFAH) and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF). In addition, the percentage of obese or overweight children is at or above 30 percent in 30 states. "Our health care costs have grown along with our waist lines," said Jeff Levi, Ph.D.
What's the one type of food you just don't seem to get enough of when you are away from home or traveling? Fruit! So I decided to try a little experiment with my family on our trip this past week. The BYOF Hypothesis: What if you went out of your way to bring your own fruit with you, or buy some when you got there? Would you miraculously eat more fruit? The Magee Vacation Experiment: I packed a small bag of fruit this week on our recent mini vacation (by car) and then kept the fruit visible in our hotel room – we are talking apricots, apples, bananas and pears. What happened? With the exception of a couple of the apples, all were eaten by the end of our stay. The fruit came in handy as snacks, day or night.
Maerad added an entry about lose weight : I heard that the best way to judge a good workout is based on the amount of sweat produced. And I produced quite a bit today. I’ve been very consistent lately, working out at least an hour 3-5 days per week. Already, I’ve hit the gym three times this week. Hooray :)
